Info for Foundation Training Year Pharmacists

Your placement year is in place and you are ready to put the knowledge gained during your degree into practice so that you are ready to join the profession.

You will have various standards to achieve and tasks to perform under the guidance of your Educational Supervisor. The Pharmaceutical Society NI is the regulatory body for Northern Ireland and is responsible for registering and regulating pharmacists. NICPLD are responsible for the Foundation Training Year mandatory programme.

GET INVOLVED

Foundation Pharmacists are encouraged to get involved with any events and opportunities for non-compulsory training during the training year, either events organised/supported by the UCA or those offered by other organisations. The UCA will share information with trainees directly via the email provided and through the WhatsApp group.

Current Foundation Pharmacists receive an e-copy of the UCA’s official publication: NI Pharmacy in Focus which is the only dedicated pharmacy magazine in Northern Ireland. There are regular features, of interest to both trainee and educational supervisor. If you are not receiving your own copy, please get in touch as below.
