A Thank You from Addiction NI

'Addiction NI's annual Race to Recovery took place in Ormeau Park on Sunday 11th March. Despite the "Beast from the East" causing a week's postponement it did nothing to dampen the enthusiasm of the 300 walkers and runners who participated in the run. Runners of all ages and abilities pulled on their trainers, pushed their prams and walked their dogs to raise awareness and much needed funds for Addiction NI.

To date the event has raised over £5,500 which will be used to fund our counselling services. This services is available to anyone aged 18yrs+ struggling with alcohol and /or drug use and to anyone impacted by someone else's use.

A special thank you to Ulster Chemist Association (UCA) who have chosen Addiction NI as their charity of the year. UCA helped in the promotion of the event to all their members. Thank you as well to all the pharmacies who literally went that extra mile by signing up to participate in the race. It is so very encouraging to watch this event go from strength to strength and we hope it will continue to challenge the stigma surrounding alcohol and drug issues in Northern Ireland. The date for next year's event is already set, Sunday 10th March 2019, so be sure to mark in the diary.'
