COMMUNITY PHARMACIST
Working in a community pharmacy, managing a team of staff including a technician, dispensing assistants, counter assistants. This is a varied role working both in and outside of the pharmacy.
GP PRACTICE PHARMACIST
Working within a GP practice, providing support to the practice team, including patient clinics, medication reviews and an interface with community and hospital colleagues.
HOSPITAL PHARMACIST
Working in a busy hospital pharmacy, managing a team of dispensing staff.
INDUSTRIAL PHARMACIST
Working in pharmaceutical or cosmetic industries, in research and marketing roles. Not all industry employees are qualified pharmacists though having the degree can be an advantage.
PHARMACY SALES REPRESENTATIVE
Representing pharmaceutical companies visiting community & hospital pharmacies on a regular basis. Not all representatives are qualified pharmacists though having the degree can be an advantage.
VETERINARY MEDICINES

ACADEMIA & RESEARCH
Many pharmacists go on to undertake research or postgraduate study whilst others give back to the profession with teaching roles at the various Schools of Pharmacy around the UK.
