Community Pharmacy Vaccination Service Continuing

Community Pharmacy COVID & FLU vaccination service

People are being urged to get their vaccinations updated now as cases of Covid-19 & Flu are rising.

The vaccination service in Community Pharmacies will offer a Covid-19 vaccination and Flu vaccination to the following eligible individuals aged 18 years and over:

• Residents of RQIA registered care homes

• Individuals aged 65 years and above

• Under-65s who are clinically at risk (evidence should be supplied by the patient to demonstrate eligibility)

• Eligible frontline health & social care staff

• Pregnant women

• Eligible carers who seek vaccination

If you are in an eligible group, you can access your vaccination in a participating pharmacy either by booking using their online system or calling in if they are offering a walk-in clinic. Check your pharmacy's website or social media pages for information on how to book.

NB Pharmacies have been authorised to vaccinate certain eligible groups - they may need to ask you for information to check your eligibility, i.e., you may need to show ID or a letter from your GP showing that you are eligible. If a pharmacy is unable to confirm that you are in a group which they have been authorised to vaccinate, they will refer you to your GP.

Vaccines help reduce your risk of getting seriously ill from COVID-19 and Flu and it is especially important that you are protected if you have underlying health conditions or are immuno-suppressed. If you have any questions, please speak to a pharmacist or another health professional to get the best advice.

We are here to help you stay safe and well. Community pharmacy teams are continuing to roll-out the vaccine service, helping to protect communities whilst continuing to deliver vital daily services such as dispensing medicines.
